Heart of Healing Retreat:
An Exploration of Sacred India
Tamil Nadu, South India
Join us for this rare immersion in several sacred sites of South India, illuminated by teachings from the Vedas on the human capacity to heal, led by myself and Yoga teacher Ivy Ingram, as well as formally trained Ayurveda physician Ramkumar.
From the comfort of our lively retreat center, we will make daily visits to local temples and other cultural sites. Every day will feature educational discussions relevant to that day’s explorations, with optional yoga and meditation sessions to support our experiential understanding. Without the stress of relocating to multiple hotels, we will be able to focus on exploring, learning, enjoying ourselves, and deepening our understanding of healing.
During this inspiring retreat, you will…
Explore ancient temples and learn about traditions that honor prominent deities including the 9 planets of the ancient Indian astrology system Jyotisha
- Expand your understanding of the healing process and how to support your own vibrant health through daily discussions with Ayurveda physician Dr. Ramkumar
- Relax and rejuvenate in serene, beautiful surroundings with delicious organic meals in an eco-conscious retreat center with grand turn-of-the-century villas and an on-site museum
- Deepen your personal practices through optional yoga, meditation and pranayama sessions designed to support your health and happiness
- Make true connections with other like-minded students of life drawn to the ancient teachings and spiritual practices of India

I am more than honored to be hosting this retreat with my teacher Dr. Ramkumar, an incredibly moving teacher of the Vedas. His experience as an Ayurveda physician and visionary bring a great depth to his teachings, and his humor and wit makes him approachable and entertaining. He is particularly skilled at communicating subtle concepts to the western mind.
He is a co-founder of vaidyagrama, an experiment in eco-friendly community living based on the principles and guidelines of Ayurveda. I spent 6 months studying and receiving treatment at vaidyagrama in 2011, and I go back every year. (There is an optional add-on to this retreat to come with us to visit vaidygrama, which I highly recommend!)
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me - I’d be happy to talk with you about this amazing opportunity and how to make it work for you to join us!
